Qualifications

Julia Croft

BA (Hons) in Criminology

Postgraduate Diploma - Psychology

MSc - Forensic Psychology (Distinction)

Stage 2 - Forensic Psychology with the BPS

Experience and Training

Julia Croft is a Forensic Psychologist, Chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is one of the Directors and the Lead Psychologist of Remix Psychological Services Ltd. She is currently involved in the assessment and treatment of men and women who commit sexual and violent offences and has worked with forensic populations, including in the high security estate, since March 2007.

 

She has a BA (Honours) in Criminology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, an MSc in Forensic Psychology awarded with distinction, and has completed the accredited stage 2 qualification in Forensic Psychology with the BPS.

Julia is passionate about the rehabilitation of people who have offended and strives to be innovative in how she works with clients. Julia has a particular interest in working with people who have committed sexual offences and specialises in working with people whose offending is related to specific sexual interests. She is highly motivated and driven, positive about helping people to change and supportive of colleagues and clients.

Julia has a range of experience in the implementation, delivery, supervision and treatment management of both moderate and high intensity accredited offending behaviour programmes. She has been the Treatment Manager for various treatment programmes, including the Healthy Sex Programme (HSP) which has a focus on supporting those with an offence related sexual interest and reducing the risk of sexual offending.

 

Julia is trained in a range of risk assessment tools, including the Historical, Clinical and Risk Management tool v3 (HCR-v3), the Risk for Sexual Violence Protocol (RSVP/RSVP-v2), the Stalking Assessment and Management (SAM), the Stalking Risk Profile (SRP), the Spousal Assault Risk Assessment (SARA). She is trained and competement to use structured psychological assessments including the International Personality Disorder Examination (IPDE) and the Psychopathy Checklist Reviews (PCL-R).

 

Julia is also proficient in assessing protective factors using the Structured Assessment of Protective Factors (SAPROF). She is also trained in and competent in the use of assessments that test cognitive functioning including the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV) and the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (WASI-II).
